Career Invites Platform Scale Campaign
Bring real careers, real pathways, and real opportunities into classrooms—at the scale workforce shortages demand.
Description
The $750,000 funding campaign will scale Career Invites’ free, classroom-ready platform so far more students and career seekers can discover high-demand careers and immediately see the training and work experiences that lead to them. This moment is urgent: too many learners still graduate without exposure to real professionals or clear pathways, while critical infrastructure sectors face major workforce shortages—especially in rural communities and regions under strain.
Over the next 12 months, Career Invites aims to make the platform available to approximately 250,000 students and support 50,000 students and job seekers actively exploring careers through short “day-in-the-life” videos, certifications, internships, and apprenticeships across fields including clean energy, skilled trades, healthcare, and sustainable mining. The campaign will expand the career-experience library, strengthen analytics to measure engagement and exploration outcomes, and deepen deployment through schools, workforce programs, and community organizations—building on early momentum, including a partnership with Energy Smart Colorado and its 11 partner organizations serving mountain towns across 20 counties.
Major-donor partnership will fund the core elements required to scale: platform development and technology infrastructure, new career content featuring real professionals, deployment, operations, and outreach resources. Partners can also play a catalytic role by introducing Career Invites to aligned schools, employers, training providers, workforce organizations, and philanthropic supporters.
Why This Moment Matters
This campaign matters now because too many students are still graduating without clear exposure to real careers, real professionals, or the training pathways that lead into today’s high-demand fields—at the same time that employers across critical infrastructure sectors are facing major workforce shortages. Career Invites is built to bridge that gap with a free, classroom-ready platform that connects career discovery directly to training and workforce opportunities.
Waiting risks leaving more students—especially in rural communities and regions experiencing workforce shortages—without direction at a pivotal moment, and slows the ability to scale a solution designed to reach large numbers of learners efficiently.
What This Campaign Can Unlock
If this campaign succeeds, Career Invites will expand a free, classroom-ready career exploration platform that helps students and job seekers discover high-demand careers they love and immediately see the training pathways to pursue them. Students will be able to watch short “day-in-the-life” videos featuring real professionals, explore certifications, internships, and apprenticeships, and connect career discovery to real opportunities in fields such as clean energy, skilled trades, healthcare, and sustainable mining.
The campaign will also unlock broader deployment across schools, workforce programs, and community organizations—building on early momentum, including a partnership with Energy Smart Colorado and its 11 partner organizations serving mountain towns across 20 counties—while expanding the library of career experiences and strengthening connections among educators, employers, and training providers.
What This Campaign Delivers
Over the next 12 months, Career Invites aims to make the platform available to approximately 250,000 students and support 50,000 students and job seekers actively exploring careers through the platform. The campaign will also expand the library of career experiences, build new partnerships with schools, employers, and training providers, and strengthen analytics tools that measure student engagement and career exploration outcomes.
Progress will be tracked through platform analytics focused on student engagement and career exploration activity, alongside reporting on growth in career content and partnerships that support school and workforce program deployment.
Partnership Opportunity
Major-donor partnership will fuel the core elements required to scale Career Invites: platform development and technology infrastructure, new career experience content featuring real professionals, school and workforce program deployment, program operations and management, and outreach and educational resources. The campaign budget outlines intended allocations across these areas (~27% platform and technology, ~23% career content, ~20% school and workforce deployment, ~20% program operations, ~10% outreach and educational resources)
Career Invites positions partnership as an ongoing relationship that can include helping introduce the platform to schools, employers, training providers, workforce organizations, and other philanthropic supporters aligned with career education, economic mobility, and workforce development.
