About North American Hazardous Materials Management Association

NAHMMA (est. 1993) is a professional association serving hazardous materials and household hazardous waste (HHW) managers, municipal programs, regulators, manufacturers and industry partners across the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

The association organizes an annual national conference, monthly webinars, regional chapter conferences and targeted trainings (for example HAZWOPER and lithium-ion battery response) to advance safer, more cost-effective hazardous materials handling and pollution-prevention practices.

NAHMMA operates as a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and is volunteer-led; in recent years it has focused program content on lithium-ion battery fire response, PFAS awareness, product stewardship and outreach to underserved communities.
