About EDUCATION IS FREEDOM FOUNDATION

Education is Freedom (EIF) is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2002 that provides school-based college and career advising, scholarships, and middle-school career exploration to increase postsecondary attainment and economic mobility for students across Dallas County. EIF operates full-time advisors on partner high school campuses, delivers a career exploration curriculum in middle schools, and runs community-based outreach to support students and families. Over two decades the organization reports reaching hundreds of thousands of students and helping them secure substantial scholarship funds toward postsecondary goals.

Notable achievements

Long-term scale and scholarship impact

EIF reports reaching more than 600,000 students over its history and that the students it has served have earned nearly $1 billion in institutional and private scholarships.

Program expansion into middle school

In 2024 EIF acquired the Education Opens Doors (EOD) curriculum and expanded its middle-school career exploration programming across Dallas ISD and Garland ISD to begin pathway conversations earlier.

Recent regional growth and year-round advising

Across the 2024–25 and 2025–26 period EIF implemented a 12-month, year-round advising structure, nearly doubled staff capacity, expanded partnerships to additional Dallas County districts (including Mesquite and DeSoto ISDs), and served tens of thousands of students in recent school years.
