CITY OF LAKES COMMUNITY LAND TRUST
Creating community ownership that preserves affordability and inclusivity
About CITY OF LAKES COMMUNITY LAND TRUST
City of Lakes Community Land Trust (CLCLT) is a Minneapolis-based community land trust founded in 2002 that creates and stewards perpetually affordable homeownership opportunities within the City of Minneapolis. CLCLT acquires and holds land, sells or resells homes with long-term affordability controls, and provides homeowner supports aimed at long-term stability and asset-building for lower- and moderate-income households.
Since its founding CLCLT has scaled substantially: it reports managing 440+ homes in trust, assisting 565+ lower-income households into affordable homeownership, and facilitating 135 resales of CLCLT homes. In recent years the organization has expanded programmatic work to include a commercial land trust initiative, partnerships with the City of Minneapolis and other public funders, and leadership transitions that continued focus on equitable homeownership access.
