About IFETAYO CULTURAL ARTS ACADEMY INC
Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy is a Brooklyn-based, African-centered arts and cultural education organization that provides multidisciplinary arts instruction, leadership development, and wrap-around family supports. The academy operates on-campus programs and extensive in-school partnerships, serving thousands of children, youth, and family members with dance, music, visual arts, cultural heritage, and leadership curricula. Founded in 1989, Ifetayo has grown into a community cultural hub that combines artistic training with academic support and cultural identity-building. In the last 2–3 years the organization launched the Araminta Space Grant to activate its studios for local artists, continued to secure public and foundation funding, and reported active program delivery in FY2023–FY2024 while maintaining nonprofit (501(c)(3)) status.

Launched the Araminta Space Grant initiative and partnered with city dance infrastructure to invest in and activate Ifetayo’s studios as a resource for Brooklyn artists and cultural entrepreneurs, providing annual grant funding to support local creative economies.
