About INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR CLUBHOUSE DEVELOPMENT INC

International Center for Clubhouse Development (doing business as Clubhouse International) is a New York–based 501(c)(3) organization that supports the global Clubhouse Model of psychosocial rehabilitation. Clubhouses are community-based centers where people living with serious mental illness work side-by-side with staff to rebuild social connections, pursue employment and education, and regain independence.

Clubhouse International provides standards, accreditation, training, technical assistance, advocacy, and quality assurance to a global network of Clubhouses. In 2023 the organization reported network growth (351 Clubhouses across 33 countries, 246 accredited Clubhouses), expanded training and accreditation activity, launched U.S. advocacy and employment initiatives (including a Duke Endowment–funded pilot in the Carolinas), and continued campaigns such as Clubhouse Giving Day and Healing Minds, Powering Communities to raise visibility and public funding for recovery-focused, community-based mental health services.

Global network growth (2023)

Reached a membership high in 2023 with 351 Clubhouses across 33 countries, welcomed 17 new Clubhouses in 2023, and reported 246 accredited Clubhouses following the International Standards for Clubhouse Programs.

Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize (2014)

Received the prestigious Hilton Humanitarian Prize (shared recognition with Fountain House) for contributions to alleviating human suffering and advancing the Clubhouse Model internationally.

Honorary Pardes Humanitarian Prize in Mental Health (2022)

Awarded an honorary Pardes Humanitarian Prize recognizing Clubhouse International’s impact on mental health and recovery-focused community programs.
