About TEATRO GRATTACIELO

Teatro Grattacielo is a New York–based, donor-facing 501(c)(3) arts organization focused on presenting rare and lesser-known operas, commissioning new works, and developing emerging artists. Under its current leadership (since 2020) the company has expanded from a single annual performance to multiple productions per year and increased community and educational programming. In the last 2–3 years Teatro Grattacielo has commissioned and presented new works (including world premieres), launched or scaled tuition-free youth programs with paid internships (Creative Tableaux), developed free civic programming (Opera at Gotham Park), and reports annual audiences and community reach in the thousands, reflecting both artistic growth and improved financial stability.

Began presenting commissioned new operas and world premieres in 2024–2025, including recent premieres that expand contemporary American repertoire.

Programmatic Expansion & Audience Growth

Expanded from one annual performance to multiple productions and performances per year and reports serving over 10,000 individuals annually through performances and outreach.

Educational & Workforce Development

Established Creative Tableaux, a tuition-free educational program that provides paid internships and workshops for youth (ages 13–22) in stagecraft, costume, multimedia, and visual arts.
