Mission

The Foundation seeks to enhance the quality of public education in Pelham with the help of parents, students, educators, alumni, businesses and foundations. It funds educational programs outside the annual school budget and awards grants to strengthen curriculum, develop innovative programs, support faculty training, purchase equipment, and fund special school facilities.

The Pelham Education Foundation, Inc. (EIN 13-3870584) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in 1995 to raise private funds that supplement Pelham public school budgets. Since its founding in 1995 the Foundation has awarded in excess of $3 million to Pelham public schools, funding classroom technology, curriculum enhancements, specialized facilities and recurring program support.

District-wide maker spaces & specialized facilities

PEF funded maker spaces in all district schools and supported specialized facilities including a science research lab, multimedia foreign language lab, broadcast production studio and a high-school fitness/wellness center, expanding hands-on and project-based learning.

Sustained recent program funding (2023–2026)

In the last 2–3 years PEF funded numerous targeted projects including the Suzuki Guitar program ($31,000), Science of Reading classroom toolkits, engineering equipment (CNC router, laser cutter), FM systems for kindergarten classrooms, authors and keynote speakers, and district-wide initiatives such as the multi-year 'We Are Pelham' inclusion project.
