THE JAZZ GALLERY

The Jazz Gallery is a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit and performance venue founded in 1995 that cultivates emerging and mid-career jazz composers and performers through residencies, commissions, mentoring, and public performances. The organization presents over 400 shows per year (four-plus nights a week across roughly 48 weeks annually), reaching an in-person audience of about 17,000 and—via streaming—listeners in dozens of countries. TJG runs a suite of artist-development programs including residency & fellowship commissions (e.g., the George Wein Fellowship Commission), the Joyce Wein Mentoring Series, the Directions in 21st Century Jazz series, the Jazz Composers Showcase, and the free Woodshed rehearsal program.
