About NEW YORK CITY TOURISM FOUNDATION INC

The New York City Tourism Foundation Inc (EIN 13-4020446) is the 501(c)(3) charitable arm of New York City Tourism + Conventions (formerly NYC & Company). The organization was incorporated in 1999 and is established to educate domestic and international audiences about New York City’s diverse cultural community while providing philanthropic support to small arts and culture organizations across the five boroughs.

The Foundation raises philanthropic dollars through events and partnerships and administers the Borough Cultural Tourism Development Grant Program—providing citywide microgrants in coordination with the offices of the five Borough Presidents to build arts audiences and support cultural programming. In recent years the Foundation has been active in recovery and audience-development efforts (notably its annual fundraising Gala) and retooled its public identity to align with the parent organization’s rebranding to New York City Tourism + Conventions.

Annual Gala Fundraising (2023–2024)

The Foundation’s annual fundraising Gala continues to be a major revenue driver for grantmaking, raising more than $600,000 at the December 2023 Gala and over $710,000 at the December 2024 Gala to support cultural grant programs and small arts organizations.

Borough Cultural Tourism Development Grant Program

Established microgrant program administered in partnership with the five Borough Presidents’ offices to support audience development for neighborhood cultural institutions citywide; the Foundation has allocated multi-year grant funding to hundreds of small arts organizations through this program.

Sustained philanthropic support since 1999

Operating for more than two decades, the Foundation has distributed cumulative grant funding (through its cultural grant initiatives and event proceeds) to strengthen local cultural organizations and drive cultural tourism across the five boroughs.
