About COMMUNITY-WORD PROJECT INC
Community-Word Project Inc (CWP) is a New York City–based 501(c)(3) arts-in-education organization founded in 2000. It delivers arts-integrated residency programs in Title I public schools, library and community-site workshops, and professional development for teaching artists.
CWP operates a multi-part program model that includes in-school and after-school Collaborative Arts Residencies, the Teaching Artist Project (TAP) with a nationally recognized Summer Institute, and partnership work with public libraries and school networks across NYC. The organization emphasizes social-justice–informed pedagogy, creative writing and interdisciplinary arts practice to support literacy, social-emotional learning, and student voice.
