NORTH EAST NEIGHBORHOODS LIVING AT HOME-BLOCK NURSE PROGRAM

North East Neighborhoods Living At Home–Block Nurse Program (doing business as NE Seniors for Better Living) is a community-based 501(c)(3) that serves older adults in Saint Paul’s northeast neighborhoods, the North End and nearby Maplewood. The organization coordinates volunteer and professional supports — including transportation to medical appointments, wellness luncheons, Memory Café programming for people with memory loss, friendly visits, and minor home repair/chore assistance — to reduce isolation and help seniors age in place. In the past 2–3 years the organization has expanded program offerings and partnerships: it operates regular Memory Café and Café Connect luncheons, provides free/low-cost rides and chore/handyman visits, and has recently launched an in-home repairs initiative targeted to adults 65+ in East Saint Paul. NE Seniors for Better Living is a member of the Living at Home Network and maintains an active website and community calendar for program sign-ups and volunteer engagement. The organization holds public grants and local foundation support and continues to work with municipal and state partners to fund operations and program services that keep neighborhood seniors connected to supports and community activities.
