PACIFIC ISLAND HEALTH OFFICERS ASSOCIATION

The Pacific Island Health Officers Association (PIHOA) is a Honolulu‑headquartered 501(c)(3) regional public health non‑profit governed by the chief and deputy health officials of the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands (USAPI). PIHOA’s work focuses on health systems strengthening, workforce development, surveillance, and preparedness across USAPI jurisdictions including American Samoa, Guam, CNMI, FSM, RMI, and Palau. PIHOA operates training and workforce programs (notably the SHIP Field Epidemiology Training Program and the Pacific Public Health Fellowship Program), supports regional health information systems and surveillance, and convenes health leadership to coordinate policy and emergency response. In recent years PIHOA has led multiple cohorts of field epidemiology and fellowship training and collaborated with partners such as CDC, WHO, SPC, and Fiji National University to scale regional capacity.
