About GLOBAL PEACE INITIATIVE OF WOMEN RELIGIOUS & SPIRITUAL LEADERS INC

Global Peace Initiative of Women (GPIW) is a New York–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that convenes women religious and spiritual leaders, elders and emerging young leaders to advance interfaith dialogue, reconciliation and ecological stewardship. The organization grew out of a major world summit convening in Geneva (2002) and has maintained sustained international convenings and programs focused on inner work (meditation, prayer, ceremony) paired with public dialogues and restorative practices. GPIW’s recent work (past 2–3 years) has emphasized nourishing and empowering young leaders, developing virtual programming and dialog series (site-hosted “Essential Conversations” and similar offerings) and continuing thematic work on peacebuilding, spiritual ecology and feminine leadership. Notable achievements

Founding World Summit and global convenings

Originated with a 2002 World Summit of Women Religious and Spiritual Leaders at the Palais des Nations (Geneva) and subsequently organized recurring international convenings and dialogues bringing together hundreds of women faith leaders to address conflict, reconciliation and ecological concerns.

Two decades of interfaith programming

Sustained programming over 20+ years combining contemplative/spiritual practices with public dialogue to support reconciliation in conflict-affected contexts and to explore systemic change in ecological and social systems.

Youth leadership focus and new virtual series (recent)
