About The Delores Project

The Delores Project is a Denver-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates a year-round, low-barrier, housing-focused shelter and on-site supportive housing, using a housing-first model and trauma-informed practices.

Programs include a 24/7 shelter (50 beds), The Delores Apartments supportive housing (35 units) at Arroyo Village, rehousing and continued-care case management, and an on-site Behavioral Health & Wellness team launched in winter 2022 to expand clinical and peer supports.

Founded as a winter shelter around 2000 and organized as a tax-exempt nonprofit in 2004, the organization emphasizes culturally competent, gender-inclusive services for women, transgender, and nonbinary community members and has recently focused on expanding rehousing outcomes and clinical supports.

Notable achievements

Arroyo Village supportive housing (opened 2019)

Completed and began operating Arroyo Village which includes The Delores Apartments, expanding the organization's ability to provide long-term supportive housing and community spaces.

Behavioral Health program launch (2022)

Launched an on-site Behavioral Health & Wellness program in winter 2022 to integrate clinical services, peer support, and group therapies across shelter and housing programs.

Demonstrated rehousing outcomes (2024)
