PARTNERS IN COMPASSIONATE CARE

Partners in Compassionate Care (PCC) is a Grand Rapids, Michigan–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded to provide Christ-centered hope, education and health services to vulnerable communities in South Sudan. The organization was formed after a 2004 mission to South Sudan and has focused its work on education, basic healthcare, eye care, discipleship training and partnership with local providers. PCC operates programs that support a school clinic, daily student meals, biblical discipleship, preventative health initiatives, eye care, and partnership-driven projects with local organizations such as Nile Orphan Care. The organization emphasizes sustainability and local partnership to raise up the next generation of Christian leaders in South Sudan. In recent years PCC has navigated operational challenges and transitions: its Bor clinic closed in March 2023 after a land-dispute and seizure of clinical assets; leadership passed to Stuart Bowman as Board Chair on July 1, 2023; PCC reported recovery and relocation of clinical assets in June 2024 to Nile Orphan Care in Juba; and PCC maintained relief activity in 2023–2024 including shipment of supply containers and medical mission work to support medicines and equipment on the ground. For fiscal year ending June 2024 PCC reported modest revenues (approximately $124,335), higher expenses (approximately $227,971) and net assets in the mid six-figures, reflecting continued program activity and asset holdings.
