About MINNESOTA INDIAN WOMENS SEXUAL ASSAULT COALITION
The Minnesota Indian Women’s Sexual Assault Coalition (MIWSAC) is a tribal-focused nonprofit that provides advocacy, training, technical assistance, and policy advocacy to prevent and respond to sexual violence affecting Native women, children, and Two-Spirit/2SLGBTQIA+ relatives. MIWSAC serves tribal nations across Minnesota, urban Native communities, and partners nationally, operating culturally grounded programs such as tribal sexual assault services, advocacy training, and Missing & Murdered Indigenous Relatives (MMIR) initiatives. In recent years MIWSAC has expanded its staff and national scope, leading federally funded projects, launching MMIP Healing & Response Teams pilot sites, and providing statewide and national training and technical assistance. The organization has received significant federal grants and philanthropic awards that reflect its role as a designated tribal coalition and leader on Indigenous-centered sexual violence prevention and survivor response.
