About HOMEGROWN LACROSSE CORPORATION

Homegrown Lacrosse Corporation is a Minneapolis-based 501(c)(3) youth sports nonprofit that delivers year-round lacrosse programming including overnight summer camps, skill clinics, leagues, tournaments, in-school physical education, and after-school teams. The organization runs leadership and scholarship initiatives, trains community coaches and referees, and operates dedicated community-development programs aimed at increasing access to lacrosse across Minnesota. In recent years Homegrown has expanded targeted work with Indigenous communities through its Indigenous Lacrosse Alliance (ILA) and continues to operate signature offerings such as Lax-4-Life overnight camp and the Captain’s Cup programs. Homegrown positions itself as a community partner — collaborating with tribal communities, schools, and local funders to create sustainable youth programming and grow the game in under-resourced areas.

Notable achievements

Indigenous Lacrosse Alliance expansion

Expanded the Indigenous Lacrosse Alliance (ILA) partnership and programming in the Upper Midwest, including hosting the Lax-4-Life summer camp on the Fond du Lac reservation and Brookston Community Center and extending after-school program partnerships with Anishinabe Academy (notably expanded in 2024).

Ongoing nationally recognized camps & events

Continued operation of nationally recognized overnight summer camps, the Captain’s Cup series, and year-round training programs (including the 2026 Captain’s Cup cycle), providing competitive and developmental experiences for youth across age groups.

Community program and coach development

Scaled community program development efforts that include in-school PE modules, inner-city after-school teams, youth leadership development, coaching and official training, and a scholarship fund to reduce barriers to participation.
