About Soccer Chaplains United
Soccer Chaplains United (SCU) is a Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofit that trains and deploys volunteer chaplains to provide holistic pastoral care across professional, amateur, and youth soccer communities. Founded as a chaplaincy to the Colorado Rapids in 2002, the organization formally registered as a nonprofit in 2005 and has operated as Soccer Chaplains United since a 2017 rebrand.
SCU’s work combines team-based chaplaincy, community service projects that distribute soccer equipment and resources, and public-facing resources (podcasts, articles) to support players, staff, coaches, families, and underserved communities. The organization is tax-exempt (501(c)(3)) and maintains ongoing chaplain relationships with teams at multiple levels of the game.
