Trinity Park Conservancy is a nonprofit dedicated to the stewardship of Dallas’ largest public green space, the 10,000 acres of the Trinity River. The Conservancy works to bring people together to protect habitat, expand access, and design and maintain parks and public amenities that unite Dallas.

About TRINITY PARK CONSERVANCY

Trinity Park Conservancy is the nonprofit steward and lead philanthropic partner for the greater Trinity River parkland in Dallas. The organization leads planning, fundraising, design, land acquisition, and community engagement for large-scale park projects that sit in the Trinity River floodway. In partnership with the City of Dallas and the Trinity River Corridor Local Government Corporation, the Conservancy is the designated nonprofit partner for Harold Simmons Park and other park components; it also runs community-facing programs including a paid youth workforce (Trinity River Crew) and conservation education. The Conservancy positions the river corridor as an accessible civic green space intended for the general public and for community benefit across neighborhoods.

Notable achievements

Lead partner for Harold Simmons Park

Selected by the City of Dallas as the nonprofit to design, construct, and maintain Harold Simmons Park, the Conservancy has advanced planning, community engagement, and site preparation for the multi-phase park project in the last several years.

Trinity River Crew — paid youth workforce

Operates a multi-year paid youth workforce and conservation training program in partnership with Greenspace Dallas, employing and training local young people in river stewardship, habitat monitoring, and park operations.

Strategic land stewardship and site acquisition

Acquired and is repurposing key riverfront parcels (including the former Dawson State Jail site) to create park gateways and support future park amenities, converting formerly underused or institutional properties into assets for public use.
