About BLUEGREEN ALLIANCE FOUNDATION

The BlueGreen Alliance Foundation (BGAF) is a Minneapolis-based 501(c)(3) public charity that produces research, data tools, and public education to connect environmental solutions with job creation and community benefits. BGAF operates national programs and data platforms — including Building Clean, ChemHAT, Visualizing the Clean Economy tools, and the EV Jobs Hub — to inform policymakers, advocates, manufacturers, and the public about cleaner, healthier, and U.S.-made products and clean-economy jobs. In recent years BGAF has increased public engagement and policy work (including webinars and state-level briefings) on manufacturing, Buy America implementation, and equitable clean-economy investments aimed at disadvantaged and low-income communities and workers.

Notable achievements

Built ChemHAT — chemical hazard & alternatives database

Developed and maintains ChemHAT, a searchable Chemical Hazard and Alternatives Toolbox that provides accessible information on chemical hazards and safer alternatives for workers, manufacturers, and communities.

Launched EV Jobs Hub and Visualizing the Clean Economy tools

Created interactive data platforms that track clean-technology manufacturing and EV-related job announcements — including unionization and investment location data — to support policymakers and advocates evaluating economic and equity impacts.

Expanded Building Clean product database

Expanded the Building Clean program to include additional U.S. manufacturers and product categories (including certified flooring and paint) to help builders and procurement officials find efficient, less-toxic, and U.S.-made building products.
