About THE GROWHAUS

The GrowHaus is a community-led nonprofit based in Denver that centers food access, hands-on education, and leadership development for residents of historically underserved neighborhoods. The organization is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Since its founding, The GrowHaus has grown programs that combine no-cost fresh food distribution, year-round youth and adult education in growing and cooking, and pilot market and fellowship initiatives to build sustainable, community-run food systems.

Notable achievements

USDA Community Food Projects Grant

Awarded a competitive USDA grant to launch a Community Market fellowship and pilot community-led market solutions (award announced in 2024).

Citywide program expansion

Scaled food access programming to manage multiple distribution sites across Denver and reach thousands of neighbors monthly.

Large-scale produce distribution

Reported distributing nearly one million pounds of fresh produce in a recent 12-month period and providing fresh food access to roughly 6,000 neighbors each month.
