About ACCESSURF HAWAII INC

AccesSurf Hawaii (stylized AccesSurf) is a Honolulu-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates barrier-free beach and ocean experiences for people with disabilities through adaptive surf and swim clinics, outrigger canoe programs, multi-day surf camps, and community events. The organization combines volunteer-driven program delivery, adaptive equipment, and training to expand access, inclusion, and independence in ocean recreation. In recent years AccesSurf has expanded its statewide programming and community partnerships, running more than 90 program days and delivering over 4,000 participant experiences annually; it also continues to host the Hawaiʻi Adaptive Surfing Championships and to pursue durable beach-access solutions and partnerships with public agencies to sustain program infrastructure and storage needs.

Hawaiʻi Adaptive Surfing Championships

Founded and continues to produce the annual Hawaiʻi Adaptive Surfing Championships, providing competitive and community opportunities for adaptive athletes and elevating adaptive surfing statewide and internationally.

Pioneering beach accessibility

Pioneered practical beach-access solutions (including repurposed mobility mats and adaptive equipment) and forged partnerships with local and state agencies to secure storage and operational permits to maintain equipment and program capacity.
