About National Association of Corporate Directors — Northern California Chapter

NACD Northern California is the local chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) serving corporate directors in the Bay Area and surrounding region. The chapter provides event programming, cohorts, and advisory forums that help board members address high‑stakes issues such as CEO succession, cyber and AI risk, ESG, and director recruitment. In recent years the chapter has expanded local programming and advisory activities — including a Leadership Council launched in 2024, new cohort offerings (e.g., Asian Directors and Black Directors cohorts), and a busy 2025 program slate — and serves a multi‑thousand member director community in Northern California.

Notable achievements

Leadership Council launch (2024)

Established a regional Leadership Council in 2024 composed of senior governance and industry leaders to produce reports and curate programming on emerging boardroom risks such as geopolitics, climate, AI, and cybersecurity.

Expanded regional programming (2025)

Delivered a packed 2025 calendar of in‑region programs and cohorts (dozens of events including director dinners, cohort sessions and specialty forums) that advanced peer learning and governance best practices for Northern California directors.

Senior volunteer leadership transition (2025)

Announced new chapter board leadership in July 2025, reflecting active stewardship by prominent regional directors and continuing engagement of NACD Directorship 100 honorees in chapter governance.
