About Oakland Soccer Club

Oakland Soccer Club (OSC) is a community-first nonprofit soccer organization founded in 1974 that provides affordable, high-quality training and competitive opportunities for underserved youth in Oakland. OSC’s stated mission is to remove pay-to-play barriers and develop life skills through soccer. ([oaklandsoccer.org](https://www.oaklandsoccer.org/about-us.html))

The club operates youth programs across boys’ and girls’ teams and has expanded into adult-level competition and women’s soccer since 2022, creating development pathways from youth to senior play. OSC has announced and fielded new women’s and men’s first teams and participates in regional amateur leagues as part of its program expansion. In recent years OSC has produced annual reports, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2024, and pursued field stewardship opportunities (including being awarded stewardship/bid responsibilities for Oakport Soccer Fields) as part of a facilities-improvement and community-access strategy. The organization maintains an active web presence, fundraising pages, and a roster of community and corporate partners. ([oaklandsoccer.org](https://www.oaklandsoccer.org/corporate-donation.html))
