About HAWAII ASSOCIATION FOR WOUND OSTOMY AND CONTINENCE CARE

HAWOCC is a Honolulu-based professional nonprofit that promotes education, clinical practice, and community support for people and clinicians working with wounds, ostomies, and continence conditions. The organization traces its roots to the Enterostomal Therapy Nurses of Hawaii (est. 1989), incorporated as a nonprofit affiliate in 2007 and later reorganized as an independent association. HAWOCC runs continuing-education programs and an annual professional conference with national and local speakers, hands-on sessions, and vendor exhibits, and operates community-facing programs such as BOBS (Bowel Ostomy Bladder Support) and the Special Buddy Connection to provide peer support for patients and families. The association maintains regular IRS filings (Form 990-EZ) and operates with volunteer leadership drawn from Hawaii’s wound, ostomy, and continence nursing community.
