About PIKES PEAK REGIONAL SCIENCE FAIR, INC.
Pikes Peak Regional Science Fair, Incorporated (PPRSF / PPRSEF) is a long-established nonprofit (regional) science and engineering fair serving middle and high school students in the Pikes Peak area. The fair gives students in grades 6–12 the opportunity to present original research, earn awards and special recognitions, and qualify for the Colorado Science & Engineering Fair and the International Science & Engineering Fair.
The organization is incorporated as a charitable nonprofit and runs an annual competitive fair (typically held each February), provides forms and Scientific Review Committee oversight, and coordinates volunteers, judges, sponsors, and school/district participation across Elbert, El Paso, Park and Teller counties.
Notable achievements
Longstanding regional fair
PPRSF has operated for multiple decades (established in the mid-20th century) and is one of the region’s primary pipelines for students advancing to the Colorado Science & Engineering Fair and the International Science & Engineering Fair.
Regular advancement to state/international competitions
Top projects from the Pikes Peak regional fair routinely qualify for the Colorado Science & Engineering Fair and, in selected years, senior-division winners have advanced to the International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF).
Broad local and national support
The fair regularly attracts sponsors and partners from universities, local foundations, national STEM organizations and government/military entities, which fund special awards and help underwrite the event.
