WAIANAE COAST EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES

Waiʻanae Coast Early Childhood Services (WCECS) is a community-based nonprofit that has provided preschool and early intervention services on Oʻahu’s leeward coast since 1971. The organization operates center-based preschool for children roughly ages 2–4 and a Parent-Child Development Center (PCDC) offering therapeutic early intervention services for infants and toddlers with developmental delays or at risk for delays. WCECS serves multiple communities across leeward Oʻahu (including Waiʻanae, Waipahu, Ewa, and Wahiawā) and combines direct service delivery with family support, nutrition (USDA-approved meals for center children), workforce-oriented childcare access, and advocacy. In recent years the organization has been an active contractor with the State of Hawaiʻi Early Intervention/Department of Health system and has participated in state-level advocacy to address workforce shortages in early intervention services. WCECS maintains an active web presence, posts local job openings for early intervention and therapy roles, and continues to operate its early education and early intervention programs as a donor-facing nonprofit organization with multi-year public grant support.
