About ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF PUEBLO
Assistance League of Pueblo is a volunteer-run chapter of the national Assistance League and a registered 501(c)(3) organization that serves children, families, and students in Pueblo City and Pueblo County, Colorado.
The chapter’s signature program, Operation School Bell®, provides new school clothing, shoes, hygiene items and age-appropriate books to children referred by school counselors; other philanthropic efforts include college scholarships, Pal Bears for children in crisis, and community literacy initiatives.
Funding and volunteer support primarily come from the Bargain Box thrift store, annual fundraisers (Holiday Fashion Preview and Golf Tournament), and local donors; in recent years the chapter has continued Operation School Bell events and awarded scholarships while operating year-round volunteer-driven programs (notably active in 2023–2025).

Since its start in 1973, the chapter has provided new clothing and related items to tens of thousands of children — documented totals exceed 43,000 children served since the program's inception.
Annual reach
In recent years the chapter has dressed roughly 900–1,000 students annually through Operation School Bell, sustaining large-scale local impact each school year (events held in 2023–2025).
Scholarship support
Over the past decades the chapter has awarded more than $300,000 in scholarships to Pueblo County students, supporting local postsecondary education pathways.
