About SPECIAL OLYMPICS HAWAII INC

Special Olympics Hawaii is the state chapter of the Special Olympics movement, providing year‑round sports training, competitions, health services and inclusion programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities across all Hawaiian islands. The organization operates a Sports & Wellness Center in West Oʻahu (Ewa Beach) and runs 10 Olympic‑type sports with more than 50 games and competitions annually. Special Olympics Hawaii serves thousands of athletes and unified partners and is supported by a large network of coaches and volunteers. In recent years the organization has continued to expand events and fundraising activities (including community festivals, law enforcement fundraising events and large state games) and has supported athlete delegations competing at national events.

Serves thousands of athletes and unified partners statewide (organization reports serving 7,200+ athletes and unified partners and running 50+ competitions each year), supported by a large volunteer and coach network.

Sports & Wellness Center (West Oʻahu)

Established a dedicated Sports & Wellness Center in Ewa Beach to host training, practices, health screenings and community events tailored to athletes with intellectual disabilities.

Athlete representation at national games

Continues to field athlete delegations to national competitions (Hui ʻO Hawaiʻi participating in the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games) and stages major statewide competitions including State Summer Games and the ʻAukake Classic.
