About EAST METRO STARS YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

East Metro Stars Youth Hockey Association (EMS/Tartan Area) is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) youth hockey association serving the east-metro suburbs of the Twin Cities. The association operates year-round seasonal programs (fall/winter league and spring development league), fielding teams across age and skill levels from Mite/8U through Jr. Gold and offering a girls program.

EMS publishes an extensive member handbook (Green Guide) that outlines its mission, policies (including financial hardship support, safety/abuse prevention, and zero-tolerance spectator policies), tryout and team-selection processes, and season schedules. The organization maintains regular board governance, monthly membership meetings, and public Form 990 filings, and continues to run clinics, tryouts, and community-facing events in recent seasons (Green Guide and seasonal pages updated for 2025–2026).
