SVA ALUMNI SOCIETY INC

SVA Alumni Society, Inc. is a donor-facing nonprofit that partners with the School of Visual Arts to administer scholarships, named award funds, housing support, and emergency assistance for undergraduate and graduate students. The organization directs 100% of current donations to student support and manages a range of named funds and juried Alumni Scholarship Awards. In recent years the Alumni Society has actively administered major scholarship cycles and corporate partnership programs; in 2025 it funded 92 final-project awards totaling $63,000 and continues to operate an Emergency Assistance Fund and a Corporate Partners for the Arts program. The Society also maintains regular public tax filings and reported increased assets and contributions in its most recent Form 990 filings. In addition to student support work, the SVA Alumni Society played a central institutional role in the School of Visual Arts’ change in control: ownership of SVA transferred to the SVA Alumni Society on September 1, 2025, marking a major governance milestone for the organization and the college.
