About DOWN SYNDROME ASSOCIATION OF HOUSTON INC

Founded in 1974, the Down Syndrome Association of Houston (DSAH) is a long-established, Houston-based 501(c)(3) organization that provides lifelong education, support, and community resources for people with Down syndrome and their families. The organization operates a resource and activity center in Houston and runs a mix of education, social, recreational and advocacy programs tailored to all ages.

In the last 2–3 years DSAH has remained active with its signature community events (including the annual Houston Buddy Walk), expanded bilingual mental-health and family-support programming through its "Hear and Here" initiative, and continued partnerships with local health systems and community organizations. The organization maintains active membership and volunteer engagement, and its recent IRS filings show continued fundraising and program activity supporting its mission.

DSAH offers newborn outreach ("Congratulations!" program), regular education workshops for families and professionals, social and recreational programs (youth and adult socials, CampAbility/Club 21–style activities), and information/referral services — with programming delivered both in-person and virtually to reach Greater Houston families.
