About Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii
Epilepsy Foundation of Hawaii (EFH) is a Honolulu-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has served people affected by epilepsy statewide since the early 1970s. The organization provides education, seizure-first-aid training, support groups, community outreach, and advocacy while maintaining liaisons on the Big Island and Maui to extend services across all islands. EFH operates with a small professional staff supported by a volunteer board and community partners; it works closely with the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at The Queen’s Medical Center and participates in national Epilepsy Foundation programs and campaigns. In the last 2–3 years EFH has run community events (including its Freedom Run fundraising activities), supported a Teens Speak Up! representative (2025), and pursued state grant funding to expand outreach and first-aid training across Hawaii.
