About Road Runners Club of America
Founded in 1958, the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) is a national nonprofit membership association that supports local running clubs and community events across the United States and its territories. The RRCA is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organization and provides services including insurance, group nonprofit (group exemption) support, education, coaching certification, and youth programming.
RRCA operates a portfolio of national programs—most notably Kids Run the Nation (a youth curriculum and small-grant program), the RRCA Coaching Certification and RunLead Badge education offerings, an insurance program for clubs/events, and an annual National Championship Event Series and Convention—to strengthen grassroots running and expand access to the sport.
In the last 2–3 years the RRCA has expanded its youth grantmaking and education offerings (including a larger Kids Run the Nation grant round in 2025), launched new leader education modules (RunLead Badge), and continued support for coach scholarships and a national championship/event series that serves tens of thousands of grassroots participants.

Founded in 1958, RRCA is one of the oldest and largest national associations serving community running clubs, coaches, and races across the U.S.
Kids Run the Nation grantmaking
Since the grant program began, RRCA has awarded hundreds of small grants and—by 2025—has distributed more than $400,000 cumulatively to support youth running programs and donated thousands of curriculum guides and children’s resources.
Expanded leader education
Introduced the RunLead Badge and expanded coaching scholarship efforts to increase the number and diversity of trained run leaders and certified coaches at the community level.
