About COLORADO MOUNTAIN CLUB FOUNDATION

The Colorado Mountain Club Foundation (CMCF) is a public 501(c)(3) charitable foundation established in 1973 to raise, manage and distribute funds that support stewardship, conservation, mountain education and related programs of the Colorado Mountain Club and like-minded organizations. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer board and administers restricted endowments, fellowships and competitive grants targeted at mountain stewardship, trail and erosion mitigation, scientific research fellowships, and public education about responsible mountain recreation. In the last three years the Foundation has been active in grantmaking to the Colorado Mountain Club and partner organizations, maintained regular Form 990 filings, and experienced a notable increase in contributed support and assets that expanded its grantmaking capacity.
