About CRAIG HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

Craig Hospital Foundation is the independent 501(c)(3) fundraising and grantmaking arm that supports Craig Hospital’s clinical care, research, patient assistance and holistic programs for people affected by spinal cord and traumatic brain injury. The Foundation operates as a Type I supporting organization for Craig Hospital and uses philanthropic resources to fund programs not covered by insurance, translational research, capital needs and patient assistance (EIN: 23-7352287).

In the last 2–3 years the Foundation has led a major campus expansion fundraising initiative—Hope & Homecomings—launched in 2025 to expand clinical capacity and research space, and continues to run donor events, grantmaking and targeted programs (including support for Operation TBI Freedom for veterans) to improve patient outcomes and community reintegration.

Notable achievements

Hope & Homecomings $100M Campaign

Launched the Hope & Homecomings capital campaign to raise $100 million for an 86,000-square-foot campus expansion to add inpatient capacity, research space and donor-funded whole-person programs; the campaign moved to construction with a ground-breaking in October 2025.

Major Philanthropic Milestone

Since the campaign began in October 2022 the Foundation has secured major philanthropic commitments (tens of millions of dollars) toward the $100M goal, including reported commitments of approximately $64 million during the campaign fundraising period.

Significant Grantmaking to Craig Hospital

In its most recent public filings the Foundation reported awarding large program and research support to Craig Hospital (a single large qualifying distribution in 2024 totaling approximately $6.75 million) and maintains multi-year grant support for patient programs, research and therapeutic services.
