Sonoma League for Historic Preservation
The mission of the Sonoma League for Historical Preservation is to preserve Sonoma's historical structures, landscapes, public spaces, and natural resources through education, advocacy, and public recognition, while contributing to Sonoma's unique sense of place.
About Sonoma League for Historic Preservation
The Sonoma League for Historic Preservation is a nonprofit, donor-facing organization founded to protect and promote the historic buildings, landscapes, and cultural heritage of the City of Sonoma and Sonoma Valley. The League operates the Maysonnave House as its Heritage Center and manages an archive of maps, documents, news clippings and photographs to support research, tours, and education.
In recent years the League has continued active preservation work and public programming: maintaining and publishing its Sonoma/Valley of the Moon historic survey online, offering walking-tour resources and docent-led programs at the Maysonnave House, and serving as an advocacy voice in local planning and preservation reviews. The organization sustains operations through membership, grants, donations and revenue from renting the Maysonnave House and garden for events, and it continues to steward facade easements and awards programs that recognize local preservation leadership.
The League is a long-established 501(c)(3) organization (EIN 23-7358957) with up-to-date filings and an active web presence; its recent activity demonstrates ongoing operations, community engagement, and stewardship of physical and documentary historic resources.
