About Helping Hands Hawaiʻi

Helping Hands Hawaiʻi (est. 1974) is a Honolulu-based nonprofit that stabilizes households through emergency financial assistance, a Community Clearinghouse of donated household goods, SNAP outreach and eligibility assistance, Representative Payee services, and seasonal programs such as Ready to Learn and Adopt a Family. The organization combines direct material relief (furniture, school supplies, hygiene items, grocery support) with case management, financial-literacy training, and benefit navigation to help low-income individuals and families remain housed and regain stability. In recent years Helping Hands Hawaiʻi has expanded outreach across Oʻahu to meet rising needs from cost-of-living pressures, increasing its service volume and outreach events while partnering with government and community agencies to connect residents to food, housing, and cash-assistance resources.
