About THE ODYSSEY THEATRE FOUNDATION

The Odyssey Theatre Foundation (doing business as Odyssey Theatre Ensemble) is a Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit producing organization and 99-seat theatre complex founded in 1969. Over more than five decades the Odyssey has presented world premieres, international collaborations, and long-running productions while supporting playwrights, actors, directors and choreographers. In recent years the organization has continued an active season of theatre, music and recurring festivals (including a Contemporary Dance Festival launched in 2017), maintained partnerships with international cultural organizations, and received public arts support to sustain multiple seasons and dance festivals. Following the death of founder and longtime artistic director Ron Sossi in March 2025, the company continued operations and season programming under its producing leadership to carry forward the venue's artistic legacy.
