About WATERCOLOR ART SOCIETY-HOUSTON

Founded in 1975, the Watercolor Art Society–Houston (WAS‑H) is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to promoting watercolor and other watermedia in the greater Houston area. The organization reports a membership base of over 600 and operates a dedicated gallery space and classroom for exhibitions, instruction, and community programs. WAS‑H presents monthly member and juried exhibitions (including an annual International Watermedia Exhibition), year‑round classes and workshops for all skill levels, model labs and open studio sessions, and an active outreach program that brings introductory watercolor instruction to community groups. The organization maintains public IRS disclosure filings (most recently a 2024 public disclosure) and continues to publish program prospectuses and class schedules into 2025–2026, demonstrating ongoing operations and donor‑facing activities.
