About WILDLIFE CONSERVATION GLOBAL INC

Wildlife Conservation Global, Inc. (EIN 26-0035224) is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Jacksonville, Florida; the EIN and tax-exempt status are confirmed by the organization’s public tax filings. The organization serves as the fiscal sponsor and U.S. partner for the Okapi Conservation Project (OCP), which works in the Okapi Wildlife Reserve in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

WCG’s primary work combines field protection (supporting ICCN ecoguards), long-term wildlife monitoring, and community programs such as agroforestry, education and women’s livelihood groups. Recent annual reports (2023–2024) document expanded patrol coverage and ecoguard capacity, broad agroforestry and livelihood support to local farmers, and monitoring results consistent with stable populations of target species in the Reserve.

Notable achievements

Expanded protection capacity (2024)

Supported training and integration of 120 new ICCN ecoguards in 2024, increasing patrol coverage across more than 80% of the Okapi Wildlife Reserve and enabling more frequent, longer-duration patrols.

Community agroforestry scale-up

Maintained and expanded agroforestry programs across multiple branches in the Reserve region, directly assisting 1,092 farmers in 2024 with practices that reduce pressure on forest habitat and diversify livelihoods.

Long-term monitoring showing stability

Camera-trap monitoring and field observations reported in 2023–2024 indicate that core populations of okapi, forest elephants and chimpanzees in monitored areas are not declining, supporting the effectiveness of combined protection and community programs.
