About BLUE WATER THEATRE COMPANY

Blue Water Theatre Company (BWTC) is a youth-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre organization founded in 2007 in Wayzata, Minnesota. Its stated mission is “Elevating youth through theatre arts education,” and it runs classes, camps, staged productions, and pre‑professional programs aimed at developing artistic skills and life skills in young people. In 2017 BWTC established a permanent home in a historic former church at 605 Rice Street East, which it renovated into a dedicated performance and education space. The company reports serving roughly 300 youth from across the region through its seasonal programming, camps, and productions. Over the past 2–3 years the organization has remained active artistically and in the community—mounting new plays and classics, hosting the Wayzata Musicales series in partnership with local funders, and launching a capital campaign in late 2025 to preserve and stabilize its historic facility for continued youth programming.
