About Gunnison Valley Health Foundation
Gunnison Valley Health Foundation is the 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm of Gunnison Valley Health that develops, preserves, and provides financial resources to expand and enhance local health services across Gunnison County.
The Foundation raises funds for capital projects, clinical programs, workforce education and patient support services — recent priorities include a capital campaign for a new paramedic station and the launch of the Guardian Angel donor program in November 2023.
The Foundation operates under a strategic plan (2022–2027) to align fundraising with GVH strategic goals and, as of the most recent fiscal filings, manages multi-million dollar assets to support community health initiatives.
Notable achievements
Family Birthing Center renovation
Supported a complete renovation of the hospital's Family Birthing Center to improve maternal and newborn care in the community.
Support for EMS capacity
Funded new ambulances and led fundraising for a new GVH Paramedics station to improve emergency response capability and response times.
Guardian Angel donor program (2023)
Launched the Guardian Angel program in November 2023 to let grateful patients and families make donations in honor of caregivers and direct gifts to specific services.
