REACH POTENTIAL MOVEMENT

Reach Potential Movement (doing business as Reach SV / Reach Silicon Valley) is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2008 and based in Sunnyvale, California. The organization focuses on supporting under-resourced students, individuals, and families across northern Santa Clara County through academic support, food and basic-needs distribution, case management, and community-based outreach.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Reach has adapted its operations to meet urgent needs (food, hygiene, shelter support and outreach to vehicle-dweller communities) and then intentionally consolidated and refocused services as public systems reopened. In recent years the organization has operated a community hub model offering case management and a “hand-up” continuum (outreach → basic needs → economic development) while partnering with local schools, cities, and health partners to reach households facing poverty and housing instability.

Financially and administratively active, Reach files annual Form 990s and continues to solicit public support as a donor-facing charity. In parallel with program adjustments, the organization has publicly signaled a transition in identity from Reach Potential Movement to Reach SV to reflect broader regional work while maintaining its core mission of removing barriers to opportunity.
