About SFM Foundation

SFM Foundation is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) based in Bloomington, Minnesota, created by SFM Mutual Insurance Company to provide post-secondary scholarships to children whose parents were killed or seriously injured at work. Since its founding in 2008 the foundation has awarded millions in scholarship support and sustains its work through corporate sponsorships, individual donors, and annual fundraising events. In recent years the organization formalized an affiliation with Kids' Chance of America (recognized 2025), continued active fundraising (including a sold-out 2025 Minnesota golf fundraiser), and maintained publicly reported IRS filings (most recently reporting revenue and expenses for fiscal year 2023).
