About ABOUT-FACE MEDIA LITERACY INC

About-Face is a San Francisco–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has delivered media-literacy education and youth leadership programming for more than two decades. The organization focuses on teaching teen girls (including trans and gender‑expansive youth) critical-thinking skills about advertising, social media, and other media that affect body image and mental health.

In the last 2–3 years About-Face has shifted from primarily in-school workshops to also offering a nationally available, family-focused digital curriculum — the Social Media Driver’s License — which provides parallel learner tracks for kids/teens and a companion audio course for parents. The organization continues to operate as a donor-facing nonprofit with an active web presence and paid / sliding-scale offerings while sustaining school- and community-based programming and partnerships.
