About BUIST COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE CENTER

Buist Community Assistance Center (Buist CAC) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2008 that serves residents of Byron Township (south of 68th St.) and the Byron Center Public School District. The center operates a client-choice food pantry, provides free clothing and household items, and coordinates limited home-repair, financial guidance, and spiritual support through a small staff and a large volunteer corps. In recent years Buist CAC has scaled operations into a major regional distributor of donated and purchased food and goods: it reports serving roughly 200 families per week and moving large volumes of food (reported at about 60,000 pounds per week / nearly 3 million pounds annually), while partnering with more than 30 local organizations and operating with a volunteer-heavy workforce to maximize stewardship of financial donations.
