About Roots Colorado, Inc. (dba DIRT / DIRT Coffee)
Roots Colorado, doing business as DIRT (DIRT Coffee), is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that began as a mobile coffee truck in 2013 and now operates brick-and-mortar training sites in the Denver metro area to train, employ, and empower neurodivergent people.
DIRT runs evidence-based vocational programming and employer-focused training designed to reduce employment disparities for neurodivergent youth and adults while modeling inclusive hiring practices for local businesses.
In recent years DIRT expanded operations and services — opening a second shop in 2022, launching Workforce Development Workshops in 2023, and running a capital campaign (2024) to establish a dedicated Workforce Development Center.
Notable achievements
Trained & employed 200+ neurodivergent people
Cumulative organizational impact includes training and employment opportunities for over 200 neurodivergent individuals and more than $50,000 in scholarships to support families and caregivers.
Opened second shop (2022)
Expanded from a single brick-and-mortar location to a second DIRT Coffee shop on the Mosaic Community Campus (Park Hill) to increase training capacity and community presence.
Launched Workforce Development Workshops (2023)
Added structured workforce-development programming and employer workshops in 2023 to scale training, employer engagement, and systems-level change in hiring practices.
