About DISTRICT 196 FOUNDATION INCORPORATED

District 196 Foundation Incorporated is a donor-facing 501(c)(3) public charity formed in 2008 to support the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School District (ISD 196). The foundation partners with district staff and community donors to fill immediate student needs across the district and to fund district-wide programs that eliminate barriers to learning.

The Foundation’s core program areas are weekend food access, summer and classroom books, and restoring used band instruments (Band for All). In recent years the Foundation has funded school supplies, menstrual product access in school bathrooms, instrument refurbishment, and large-scale weekend meal distribution, and it continues to accept funding requests aligned to those priorities.

Governance is volunteer-led by a local board of directors with ex-officio district leadership participation. The organization files annual Form 990 returns and maintains an active web presence and donor-facing fundraising channels.
